DPA Web 2.4

Free & public

DPA gives a coaching group one working surface for video review and structured match analysis. Load local footage, open a YouTube video, or work beside an embedded external provider; set the match periods, choose a pitch zone, record the event, and build an evidence trail that the whole backroom team can review.

  • Review by match period: set first half, second half and extra-time periods, then analyse the correct phase of the game.
  • Tag video with location: record events against a 21-cell pitch grid and Home/Away perspective.
  • Use your own terminology: manage event templates so the capture model fits the team, code or analysis objective.
  • Protect the work: autosave, save a session, resume later and retain event history instead of starting again.
  • Move evidence onward: export structured events for reporting, review meetings and further analysis.

A practical match-review workflow

01
Open the match

Use a local file, YouTube, or an external video workspace.

02
Set the match periods

Anchor first half, second half and extra time so every event has proper match context.

03
Tag the evidence

Select the pitch zone, team and event while reviewing the decisive passages.

04
Save, resume and export

Keep the analysis session intact and produce structured data for the next coaching conversation.

Secure club analysis platform

From one match report to a season-long coaching picture.

The Club Analysis Platform turns structured match data into a persistent team workspace. Build sport-specific reports, study opponents, compare trends across matches and keep the evidence available to authorised club users.

Advanced analysis for clubs

Club Analysis Platform

Secure login

Go beyond a single export. Upload match data, generate detailed coaching reports and keep each team's analysis organised over time. The platform uses the right terminology and scoring model for hurling, camogie or Gaelic football, including football kick-outs, kick-passes, 45s and two-point scores.

01
Sport-specific match reports

Score efficiency, puck-outs or kick-outs, rucks, passing, heatmaps, timelines and coaching evidence in the language of the code.

02
Opposition research

Analyse an opponent's match separately and bring their patterns, strengths and risk areas into match preparation.

03
Season trends

Compare repeated metrics and pitch patterns across matches instead of treating every performance in isolation.

04
Club templates and history

Use club-specific report templates and retain match evidence in a controlled workspace for the people who need it.

Choose the right starting point

Use the tool that matches the job.

Sidelinecut is modular. Start with a free public tool for one task, or connect the tools into a complete match-day and coaching workflow.

Free public capture and reporting

Three simple tools, three distinct jobs.

Choose Stats App for an installable offline-first match record, Live Grid Stats for the fastest browser capture, and Free Match Report for a standalone printable summary. All three are public and require no password.

Built for the full backroom team

One match. A shared body of evidence.

Sidelinecut is designed to support coaching judgement, not replace it. The tools help different members of a GAA setup work from the same tagged moments, pitch locations, match phases and reports instead of relying on memory alone.

C

Coaches

Revisit the exact passages behind a tactical point, connect video to location and event type, and prepare a more focused review or training message.

M

Management

Create a consistent review process across matches, keep analysis sessions organised and bring concise evidence into planning meetings.

S

Selectors

Return to key phases and repeated patterns, compare what happened in context and contribute to selection discussion with visible match evidence.

A

Analysts

Use configurable event models, period controls, pitch zones, session recovery and structured exports to build a repeatable workflow.

A connected coaching workflow

Capture. Review. Analyse. Act.

The tools remain modular, but they now form a clear path. Capture the match, revisit the video, turn the event data into evidence, and bring the conclusions into training, selection and opposition planning.

1

Capture the match

Use Stats App or Live Grid Stats to record score, clock, event and pitch zone.

2

Review the video

Use DPA to reconnect the key events with the exact match period, location and footage.

3

Analyse the evidence

Create a quick free report or use the Club Analysis Platform for deeper reports, opponents and trends.

4

Make the next coaching decision

Bring a focused evidence set into review meetings, training design, selection and match preparation.

Controlled-release tools

Advanced tagging and browser video cutting.

Tag and Cut remain password-protected for authorised users. They support the wider Sidelinecut workflow but are presented separately from the free public products.

Introduction

See Sidelinecut in action.

Watch the short introduction for an overview of the Sidelinecut approach and how browser-based tools can support a coaching and performance-analysis workflow.

The public tools can be opened directly from this page. DPA works best on a laptop or desktop with a modern browser.

Why browser-based tools

Practical, private and easy to introduce.

Start with the part of the workflow your team needs today. There is no requirement to replace every existing process at once.

Local-first privacy

Local match files are handled in the browser. They are not uploaded to Sidelinecut for DPA, reporting or browser cutting.

Open and start

The public tools require no account or specialist installation. Open them in a modern browser and begin.

GAA-aware workflows

Hurling, camogie and Gaelic football workflows use sport-specific score models, terminology, match periods and a 21-zone pitch.

Structured outputs

Save sessions, export event data and create reports that can be reviewed beyond the person who performed the analysis.

Flexible video sources

DPA supports local footage, YouTube and embedded external video workflows, including manual clock alignment where a provider cannot be controlled.

Shared coaching language

Configurable templates help the analyst, coaches, management and selectors review the match using the same event definitions.

About the developer

Developed through real GAA performance analysis.

Sidelinecut has been developed and refined over several years through practical match analysis, ongoing prototyping and direct use in real coaching environments.

Developer and performance analyst

Dr Liam Noonan

Performance analyst with Upperchurch–Drombane GAA

Dr Liam Noonan is a performance analyst with Upperchurch–Drombane GAA and the developer of Sidelinecut. He has built and refined the platform over a number of years to make match capture, video review and performance evidence more useful to coaches and teams.

Used as part of a successful 2025 campaign

During Upperchurch–Drombane's successful 2025 campaign, the club leveraged Sidelinecut as part of its performance-analysis process, supporting match review, preparation and better-informed coaching conversations.

The technology played a positive supporting role within a much broader collective effort by the players, coaches, management, selectors, volunteers and wider club. That campaign delivered Tipperary Premier Intermediate, Munster Intermediate and All-Ireland Intermediate honours.
